Background

Tip Me Out offers a solution for tipping based merchants tired of dealing with cash while paying out tips to their employees at shift end. The software allows business to quickly pay employee tips directly onto a prepaid debit card thus eliminating the complexities that come with on hand cash management.

We were engaged in branding, position and designing a tipping platform for tipping based businesses.

Approach

The acquisition experience focuses on education and conversion. We keyed in on the plights facing tipping based merchants and positioned Tip Me Out as the answer. While the platform benefits were good enough for conversion, we elevated the visual experience by showcasing the slick and beautiful platform interface throughout the site. Beyond merchants needs, we also addressed the perks their employees would be receiving if they used Tip Me Out thus making the software a good solution for both the employee and employer.

For the platform experience, we defined the key users, identified their needs and assigned feature access through permissions.

We built an intuitive feature-rich scalable application that works for both big franchises and small mom and pop businesses.

Understanding the high turnaround in the service industry obligated us to map and build an experience that was easy to understand, search and effortless to operate.

Identity
Design

The arrow symbol in the logo alludes to motion and has the resemblance of an exit sign. We paralleled this image to paying out employee tips at the end of a work shift. The thought captured was, “get paid on your way out”.

Interface
